The AG-HVX202 debuts as the first camera-recorder featuring the P2 (professional plug-in) card, developed by Panasonic as a recording memory for professional systems. Because the core P2 products use no drive mechanisms, they provide superior resistance to impact, vibration and temperature change. The DVCPRO HD codec uses optimal intraframe compression, each frame stands on its own, for editing. With colour sampling at a full 4:2:2 quality the images will hold up under colour correction. Additionally, the DVCPRO HD format includes uncompressed audio, which is perfect for audio sweetening in post production.

All of which is simplified by nonlinear editing using a PC or a Mac as both of these platforms have programs that edit DVCPRO HD today. Inside is the Intel Core i7 (740QM) running at 1.73GHz with a 1333 MHz system bus. This is a quad-core processor with 8 processing threads. It normally runs at 1.73GHz, but can turbo up to 2.93 GHz when needed using Intel’s TurboBoost techology. It’s a 64-bit CPU with 6 MB of Intel SmartCache (L3). It was built using a 45 nm process. The Asus G73JH laptop comes from the company’s high-performance G line of laptops. It has a Intel Core i7 processor and a 17.3″ display.

Inside is the Intel Core i7 (740QM) running at 1.73GHz with a 1333 MHz system bus. This is a quad-core processor with 8 processing threads. It normally runs at 1.73GHz, but can turbo up to 2.93 GHz when needed using Intel’s TurboBoost techology. It’s a 64-bit CPU with 6 MB of Intel SmartCache (L3). It was built using a 45 nm process. The laptop uses the Mobile Intel® HM55 Express Chipset. You get 12 GB of 1333MHz DDR3 memory for your multitasking, with the ability to upgrade to 12GB.

The screen is a 17.3″ LED-LCD high-definition plus widescreen display with 1600 x 900 resolution. A big display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and native support for 720p. The display is driven by the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 graphics engine. It has 1GB GDDR5 dedicated video memory to avoid system slowdowns. This GPU offers support for Microsoft DirectX 11 and OpenGL 3.2 for maximum compatibility with today’s and tomorrow’s games. The clock speed on the graphics engine is 850 MHz.

For storage there is a 640 GB hard drive. About the best drive you’ll find in a laptop these days. The optical drive is a Multiformat DVD±RW/CD-RW drive with double-layer support.

For networking you get an RJ-45 port for 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet for you wired network people. For wireless you can use the Wi-Fi® Wireless networking (802.11b/g/n) adapter or 4G WiMax Mobile Internet.
